At the suggestion of the German Physical Society (DPG), UNESCO has declared 2025 the Year of the Quantum to mark the centenary of the formulation of quantum mechanics.
The influence of quantum mechanics on our culture, science, technology and art can no longer be denied.
From everyday phenomena such as magnetism and solar energy generated by thermonuclear reactions, to groundbreaking technological developments such as LEDs and imaging techniques in human medicine, quantum physics makes it all possible. And we are only at the beginning — current developments in second-generation quantum technologies are likely to fundamentally change our world.
Under the motto “Quantum2025 — 100 years are just the beginning…” a variety of events and activities will take place in Baden-Württemberg! The QuantenBW ecosystem invites you to various events and formats throughout the year.
QuantumBW Roadshow
On the occasion of the International Year of Quantum Science 2025, QuantumBW, together with its partners Photonics BW and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, is organizing a Quantum Roadshow. The tour will visit four locations in Baden-Württemberg during the course of the year. Come and find out about the potential of quantum technologies!
We invite you to share ideas with our quantum enthusiasts and learn about applications in a marketplace of possibilities. Be inspired, take away exciting ideas and immerse yourself in the world of the smallest particles — no prior knowledge of quantum technology is required!
