UNESCO has declared 2025 the Year of the Quantum at the sugges­tion of the German Physi­cal Society (DPG) to mark the 100th anniver­sary of the formu­la­tion of quantum mechan­ics. The influ­ence of quantum mechan­ics on our culture, science, technol­ogy and art can no longer be denied.

From every­day phenom­ena such as magnet­ism and solar energy gener­ated by thermonu­clear reactions to disrup­tive techni­cal devel­op­ments such as LEDs or imaging techniques in human medicine, all of this is only made tangi­ble and possi­ble by quantum physics. And we are only at the begin­ning — current devel­op­ments in second-generation quantum technolo­gies are expected to funda­men­tally change our world. 

Under the motto “Quantum2025 — 100 years are just the begin­ning…”, a wide variety of events and activ­i­ties are taking place, includ­ing in Baden-Württemberg! The Quantum^BW ecosys­tem invites you to various events and formats through­out the year.
